Writing Online is Hard

Can I just focus on my writing?

Writing something online is hard. If you’re reading this right now, believe me, it takes determination just to hit “publish” button. Procrastination eat me up, lack of simplicity of some blogging platforms make it worse.

From the start of 2021, I have a dream to start my own publication. I search everything to start my own publication/blog. I was a WordPress user back then but I feel WordPress becoming more complicated day by day. So, I move to other alternative: Ghost.

At first, Ghost seems to be my thing. It is simple, clean, handle newsletter perfectly, at least that’s what I hear from the other’s testimonies.

And it’s true. Writing on Ghost is super easy, until you want to invite your friend to write alongside us. It takes several technical steps: setting up the mail server, inputting some command line and setting up the domain. I spend my time setting up everything, not brainstorming the idea and writing it up.

It is true. I apologize saying this, but I think WordPress, Ghost and other self-hosted platform is not ideal for my condition. So, I move to another place: Medium.

Well, I am not new here. I have subscribed Medium for about two years now and I am happy using it. You can find some provoking writings in Medium, but mostly I just scrolling around and search writings about python, economics or self-development.

I find it useful for me since I have not much time to read books.

So, for those of you who want to share their thoughts but never like to deal with such complexity of setting up literally everything, Medium is a good place to start.
