I know we are stronger than the terrors

In the last two days, Surabaya, the second largest city in Indonesia was attacked by 5 consecutive bombings, killed dozen of people and many more are injured. But one thing for sure, people enrage with terrorism. We are sick of it. We all hope all terrorists to vanish once and for all.

The bombings targeted three churches in Surabaya, Gereja Santa Maria Tak Bercela Jalan Ngagel Madya, Gereja Kristen Indonesia (GKI) Jalan Diponegoro dan Gereja Pantekosta Pusat Surabaya Jalan Arjuno. The suspect behind this attack is a family with 4 children.

From the article I read, the father blasted Gereja Pantekosta Pusat Surabaya di Jalan Arjuno. The mother and her two daughter blasted Gereja Kristen Indonesia (GKI) Jalan Diponegoro Surabaya. Her two other sons then blasted Gereja Pantekosta Pusat Surabaya Jalan Arjuno. They are one family after all.

I do not know, what are their motivation? I don’t believe they do that bombings for uphold Syariat Islam. Don’t they think that their action will make people see their religion as radicalism?

I believe they don’t. One thing I know for sure about Islam is it teaches people to live in harmony. A bomb never ever creates harmony, and Islam will never use that in any occasion, in anytime, in anywhere.

I do not understand why some people use bombs to accomplish what they think is right. They are the people who thinks blood is okay to spare. It is totally not.

With this piece of writing, I beg to you to not blame the bombers. They are not wrong, they are the victim. The victim of what? The victim of rage, radicalism, and avenge.

I believe that the bombers did not fully understand what they do. They never think the impact will be that big and disastrous. They’re blinded by hate and madness.

What can we do to make sure the same thing never happen again? Nothing but to love your surrounding. Love your family, love your friend, love your enemy, love the one you don’t even know. Spread love, not hate. Embrace friendliness, not rage. Make our world a better place by treating others in a way better than you want them to treat you.

Matthew 5:44 New King James Version (NKJV)

“But I say to you, love your enemies, bless those who curse you, do good to those who hate you, and pray for those who spitefully use you and persecute you”
